Los Angeles Rams coach Sean McVay has moved the water team to wine when he was hired in 2017 and, by the way, has become the youngest head coach in the modern era of the National Football League.
Currently 32, he is one of the league’s offensive geniuses. And apparently, in part, this is due to an unusual memory for American football. Watch NFL live stream free match from here.
McVay has an explanation for that.
“I have no life, other than that I love American football,” said the Rams head coach.
But are you wondering how we know he has an almost superhuman capacity to remember things? Come on.
In a recent video posted by the site ‘Bleacher Report’, McVay was challenged to remember specific scenarios of games from past seasons and the technician was able to perfectly remember the played play and its result.
McVay said his ability to remember these events is actually due to a process in which he is “always revisiting.”
“It’s not like I’m just remembering and it’s the only time that’s been done. These are things that we, as coaches, always do. So it’s something you’re always revisiting, especially when they’re relevant plays, “he said.
If you do not just believe McVay’s words, know that coaches and players who have worked with the current head coach of the Rams corroborate the idea that his memory is truly differentiated.
Wade Phillips, the Rams’ offensive coordinator who is now in his 41st season as an NFL coach, said McVay’s ability to remember plays was an unusual feature among coaches. Sean McVay has amazing recall of plays from his past
“I think it’s common among savants. He has a tremendous memory, but he also has great skills with people, and that’s the difference in him and some really smart guy. He’s right above my head, for sure, “Phillips pointed out.
When McVay’s memorable ability was mentioned to running back Todd Gurley, star of the Rams, the player confirmed: “sounds right … he has a great memory.”
McVay, however, insists his memory only works when it comes to American football.
“It’s not a joke, when I say I really do not remember anything else,” he finished.
