A day after being elected the players’ representative, Richard Sherman expressed his belief that there will be a leak when the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement with the NFLPA ends.
“That will happen. So it’s not like the guys are guessing (it’s going to happen), “the San Francisco 49ers cornerback said on Thursday.
The current working agreement between players and league owners runs through the 2020 season. However, there are rumors that athletes may hinder negotiations to achieve certain economic changes, including securing more guaranteed money in contracts. The two sides have already had problems, with the owners doing crazy, for four months during the offseason of 2011, but the two parties have reached a ten-year agreement before the season is threatened.
Sherman said he expects a locaute “because there have been locautes before. We do not plan to change anything in relation to the agreement we currently have … I do not think it will be negotiated before the end of the labor agreement. ”

“There’s always a freshman in me. I do not think this changes from the first to the eighth grade (in the league). I believe you always go to the field knowing that you can do something special and you are excited about the possibilities, “said the 30-year-old.
